Magnesia cement (Sorel) is a fast-hardening refractory glue based on magnesium oxychloride with various fireproofing, and general repair uses. Magnesia is also a curing agent for phosphate blocks of cement at room temperature.

Magnesite (magnest) drilling mortar is the primary ingredient in producing drilling magnesia cement slurry.

Magnesite drilling cement types

Based on the application temperature and closure time, it is divided into two types:

  • Low-temperature drilling magnesite cement (standard magnet): This cement is used when the temperature is less than 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • High-temperature drilling magnesite cement (retarded magnet): Used at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
